2025-05-06 01:14:27 +0000 UTCSo Houndour is the first Dark type Pokemon we've seen in the anime, it was a new type they introduced in Gen 2 (Johto), Dark types tend to have a bit edgier and more threatening designs, I mean, in Japan they literally call it "evil type" instead of dark type, but they toned it down a bit in the localisations. Houndour and their evolution actually tend to be Pokemon team rocket and some other villains use in the games, but well... Jessie and James are... Jessie and James.
