Apart from it being shot way too dark for most people watching it at the time to see it clearly, the biggest issue is that Arya killed the Night King. From the start of the story, the White Walkers and the Night King has been Jon's story. It felt like Jon got sidelined at the climax of his own story arc so that they showrunners could give Arya more screen time. It's also fair to say that this was the showrunners fault. In the books when Arya is at the inn and hears that Jon is in Winterfell, she is tempted to go but ultimately heads south to kings landing to deal with Cersi. Because revenge against the Lannisters is Arya's story arc. Instead she got shoehorned into Jon's narrative and was allowed to steal the spotlight. It also introduced issues of "too many main characters in the same place"...Bran, whose story also revolved heavily around the Night King, basically went north, became the three eyed raven, returned to Winterfell, and then sat there as bait until Arya saved the day. It made his entire arc seem, not inconsequential, but less impactful. I really think that if Arya wasn't there and there was a heavier focus on Jon and Bran, both of them would have had the chance to have more impact and have their story arcs resolved with more satisfaction. Arya didn't really need to be there, and as a result it kind of feels like she has "main character syndrome" because the showrunners really liked her; which is somewhat at odds with GoT's style as a sprawling story with tons of complicated characters none of whom are safe from sudden death.
