I think it's about time to finally talk about the GS ball lol, since this is basically its last proper appearance, so I'll share an excerpt from an interview with one of the series directors for the first 3 Generations. "In an interview with Masamitsu Hidaka in 2008, it was explained that the GS Ball was originally going to contain a Celebi that was to be the star of a large arc of the Johto saga. However, it was decided that Celebi would be the star of the fourth movie, He said the writers didn’t know what to do with the Ball after they made their decision, so they were hoping fans would just forget about it all together when Ash and crew left it with Kurt" Celebi is a mythical time travelling Pokemon by the way, so that's why it was special enough to save for a movie, it's honestly a pretty good film. They probably should have just put another Pokemon in the GS ball lol, but it's just funny to me how they just hoped people would forget all about it, it doesn't bother me, but I know Big Green and some others are still mad about it even now lol. Some decisions in the early seasons are just kind of funny to me honestly.
