He's a funny prick, is why. Plus is he's not wrong at times, like when retorted that Musashi was the Pot calling the Kettle black. His manga version is a dooche in the first ch, but it's more understandable as he's trying to avenge his old mans honor. But most of it is him being pretty level headed and on good terms with Hayato and Musashi. As he gets older, he gains Armageddon Ryoma's stoicness but if was allowed to mature in peace,rather than prison. So he's not only stoic, but also calm and collected, even in combat. New Getter Ryoma feels like if Manga Ryoma didn't become a Getter pilot until much later, so his more dickhead side gradually took over.

Armageddon Ryoma is also one of the more hardcore and batshit depictions, but he's still a seasoned combatant, so his balls out nature is more controlled and tempered toward those who deserved it. This Ryoma starts off a massive prick toward everyone, but he gets better as it goes on.
