It's really only after you see the failed payoff, that you begin to see where the cracks were forming in Season 7. You've actually already noticed one of them; Arya's exaggerated powers. Everyone loved that scene at first, but with hindsight, people started to notice the things you were describing, about how it felt kind of unnatural and over the top.
