Quark is awful, I love that slimy little gremlin. Garak, Odo, and Quark are definitely my favorites but that's not by a very wide margin because I really love most of the DS9 crew. Kira especially gets some really amazing stories down the line. People season one is considered the hardest one to get through, but I think its much better than season one of The Next Generation. Sure there are some things that they end up changing by season two, but its still a strong start. It's crazy how good this show gets, and I'm always fighting not to spoil it for others.

2025-03-20 20:25:55 +0000 UTCA man alone is a good early little Odo story, it does a good job giving us a glimpse into his character, he's honestly a good person, he does care about justice and protecting the innocent, but he's dangerously close to being authoritarian at times. RenΓ© Auberjonois does a phenomenal job in the role, he's really good at doing these stern serious types of characters, and he's able to work through the latex makeup well. Quark is... interesting, he's awful at times, but he's weirdly likeable and one of my favourite characters along with Odo lol. Quark, and his family are Ferengi, we'll learn more about them later, Ferengi were introduced in TNG the previous series, they're described as basically yankee traders, I don't want to dive into the behind the scenes of Ferengi just yet... but... Gene Roddenberry had some... interesting ideas.
