His race was ambiguous before, some kind of a bird creature, but we've now settled on him being a Strix , which in our universe are like avian humanoids related to vampires. They feed on a certain element rather than blood, though they bite people all the same. Typically while they sleep with a numbing effect so they can get in and get out without the victim ever even knowing.
