*actually the first time was when she was young and he snuck into the chapel where she grew up. He just planned on hiding for the night but the window he chose to climb through went right into the room where Honey slept.
Being very religious, she was convinced he was an angel, and he played into it, going as far as to say he's her guardian angel. She doesn't remember much else of what happened that night, but she's convinced her guardian angel is watching over her.
When Ozwalt then recognizes Honey he decides to keep playing guardian angel, approaching her in the meadow and asking if she remembers him.
