Chapter One

Not that there's ever really a good time to become homeless, but doing so eight and a half months pregnant with twins, makes it even less ideal… That being said, Chase was handling his predicament pretty well all things considered.

The intense storm and correspondingly intense damage done to his home had almost sent him into (slightly) early labor but fortunately, hadn't. As ready as he was to no longer be pregnant, giving birth in the middle of one of those "once in a century" storms that happened all too frequently now, would've been quite dangerous to say the least. Having to hunker down in his home, with half the roof, a few walls and several windows blown down/out was bad enough.

Simply getting to the hospital would've been extremely difficult, if not entirely impossible given the conditions. When one of the many, giant trees formerly gracing his backyard suddenly ended up half inside his house, Chase had almost had a heart attack, and had had a pretty intense contraction, but after a few, very tense and scary minutes, he and the two babies inside him began to calm down.

Once the storm finally passed and he realized if he remained calm, careful and cautious, he wouldn't be in any imminent danger, and that he wasn't in labor, the doubly pregnant, nearly due man set to awkwardly gathering up and saving what he could of his belongings. The tree had come down through the office and the guest room upstairs, and the dining and living room down, all of which were located at the back of the house. With half the roof and several walls and windows demolished, many of Chase's things were left exposed to the elements, so as quickly and safely as he awkwardly could, he dragged, tugged and carried what he could to the relative safety of his thankfully, still intact garage till help promised by his homeowner's insurance arrived the following day.

If there was any good news, it was that Chase wasn't actually left homeless, just displaced for the foreseeable future. While his home was being repaired, his insurance put him up in an extended-stay hotel. Unfortunately, it wasn't the kind of place he would've booked had he been the one footing the bill, but with a full (but small) kitchen, (also small) living and dining room, as well as a separate bedroom, his suite was comparable to a (small) apartment and therefore, beat out the standard, albeit nicer room he would've typically booked.

Even if it wasn't as nice as the accommodations he was used to when he wasn't home, in the long run, the extended-stay suite made the most sense and cost Chase the least money, which was good seeing as it was going to be awhile before he'd be able to go back home… The other good news was that despite how it most certainly looked, he wasn't going to have to deal with newborns in a hotel setting. Though he'd still be staying there after he gave birth, Chase was carrying for his sister, Delilah, and her husband, Mark. As soon as the babies (finally) decided they were ready to make their entrance, off to their biological parents they'd go, while their uncle(surrogate went back to his hotel to recover.

Naturally, upon learning her brother (but more importantly to her: her children) were without a roof over their heads, Delilah offered for Chase to come stay with her and Mark. Despite what he was so graciously doing for them, the truth was that Chase wasn't very close with his sister or her husband. Not only that, but he was already seeing more than enough of them in his book, as both Delilah and Mark insisted on coming to each and every exam he had. As such, extended-stay suite it was, thank you, insurance.

Speaking of which, Chase parked in front of his temporary home. Following the storm, he'd finally decided to take paternity leave, not because of his condition, but more so so he could have time to deal with insurance adjusters, contractors, etc. Not having to do so while dealing with his actual job was appreciated seeing as dealing with the mess at home quickly came to be a job in itself.

Still, Chase had more time on his hands than he was used to. As such, for something to do, rather than making one big trip to the store that would get him through the week, he went shopping just about every day, picking up only what he needed to get him through till his next outing. With a grunt and a groan, Chase heaved himself out of the car belly first, waddled around to the trunk, grunted again as he grabbed his most recent bag of groceries, and lumbered inside, happy again he'd requested a room on the first floor so he didn't have to deal with stairs.

"Well hey there," his handsome, presently sweaty "nextdoor neighbor" greeted him as they reached their doors from opposite ends of the hall. He sauntered easily up to his carrying a six pack in hand as Chase ponderous waddled up cradling his loaded paper bag against his belly.

"Hello, hotel neighbor," the doubly pregnant man smiled and nodded. "Just getting back?"

"That I am."

"Long day," Chase noted. "You left around six this morning."

"Why do you know my schedule as well as me?" The guy asked with a laugh.

"I was up."

"Shit… Not because of me, right?" He asked, quickly cutting off his laugh and switching his smirk to a frown.

"No, you're good," Chase assured with a chuckle, a smirk and a shake of his head. "You didn't wake me, they did," he said, dipping his chin towards his belly.

His literal hottie of a "nextdoor neighbor" switched back to smiling again, relieved to know he hadn't woken the other man. "I'm not too loud though, right?" He asked, wanting to make sure.

"You're fine," Chase said before silently adding to himself, 'Really fuckin' fine. Damn…'

In the week he'd been at the hotel, he'd seen the other man who looked to be a handyman or some sort of general contractor, several times. Most of the time, it'd been through the window, be it car or the one in the room, but a few times, they'd run into each other at their doors as they just had again and said hi. Till this time, that was as far as any interaction had gone though in his head, Chase had imagined an encounter going farther, 'cause his "neighbor" was hot.

"Actually, I'm Dom," the guy replied with a wink.

"Oh, are you now..?" Chase smirked up at him since he was a few inches taller than him. "I can be pretty dominant when I want to be too, but most of the time, I'm more…"

"You're funny!" Dom cut him off with a laugh. "My full name is Dominic."

"Actually, I'm Chase," Chase replied, using Dom's response and making it his own. "And yes, I am funny, thank you!" He winked.

"You're welcome, Chase," the taller, well-built man nodded. "I've gotta say though…" he started before pausing for effect.

"Yes..?"

"You look like you'd be pretty easy to catch at the moment…"

"Busted… Wonder what gave it away?"

"I wonder… Anyway, if I'm ever being too loud, just bang on the wall or knock on the door, and I'll be sure to pipe down," Dom said.

"Which door?" Chase asked, raising his brows. "The front, or the one connecting our rooms?"

"Either…" Dom chuckled as he took a quick glance down at his hotel neighbor's big belly, surprised he hadn't done so sooner, seeing as it practically had its own gravitational pull. "So they, huh?"

"Yes, sir," the few inches shorter, heavily expectant man confirmed with a nod. "Twins."

"Congrats!"

"Thank you, but all I can really take credit for is somehow managing to grow them to be this big…" Chase sighed as he looked down and out at himself again, feeling the need to pee starting to build up again as he did. Ugh! Just when he and Dom were finally talking!"

"Oh..?"

He nodded. "I'm carrying for my sister and her husband… They had some issues conceiving. More than some, actually… They'd been trying for years," he explained. "So long story short, here I am, pregnant with their twins!" Chase concluded with a shrug strong enough to make his breasts wobble, his right against the paper bag he was holding, causing it to audibly crinkle.

The sound drew Dom's eyes, which honed in on the other man's milk-filled melons for the briefest of moments before he raised them higher, doing the same with his brows till their aches touched the underside of the brim of his hat.

"About to pop 'em out in an extended-stay hotel?" He asked with a laugh.

Chase chuckled back. He wasn't offended that Dom didn't shy away from commenting on or teasing him about his size the way so many people did despite him having come to be the (almost literal) elephant in the room, or in this case, the hall. In fact, in a strange sort of way, he kind of liked it.

"Why I'm staying here is part of the story I abbreviated, which unfortunately, I don't have time to tell you in full right now because shocker…" he briefly paused for effect. "I've gotta pee again, even though I did last less than an hour ago, and I haven't had anything to drink since!" He sighed and shook his head as he rolled his eyes.

"I re- I mean, that's gotta be annoying," Dom replied with a sympathetic shake of his head.

"That's an understatement!"

He chuckled. "Well then I'll let you go handle business."

"Not only do I thank you for that, I'm sure the housekeeping staff does too!" Chase winked as he pulled his keycard from his shorts. "I'm glad we got the chance to finally officially meet, seeing as we're nextdoor neighbors and all."

"Agreed," Dom nodded as he pulled his card from the left front pocket of his jeans, which were so tight, they looked like they'd been painted on, at least from what Chase had seen of them beyond his giant belly. "Remember, just knock or pound if I'm ever being too loud."

'Shit… I wish you'd POUND me!' The doubly pregnant man thought to himself before nodding and replying aloud, "I will."

"Or, if you ever just need something…" Dom quickly added with another nod and a smile. "Anything."

Chase smiled back and chuckled as he scanned himself into his room, turning the handle and pushing the door open before holding it with his foot. "While I appreciate the offer, I won't hold you to it," he shook his head, finishing when he was looking over and slightly up at his hunky, nextdoor neighbor again. "We're only hotel neighbors, after all…"

"But still neighbors!" Dom countered as he did the same to his door with a lot more ease and grace. "So please, do hold me to it if you ever find the need, OK?"

"Will do," Chase nodded before stepping into his room and calling over his shoulder. "Enjoy your beer! You deserve it after such a long day!"

"Oh, I will!" Dom called back. "It'd taste better if I had a steak to go with it, but I'll survive!" He finished before their doors closed and locked behind them at just about the same time.

"Fuck…" Both men exhaled as they leaned back against their doors, only a few feet and a wall apart.

Not only were their verbal responses to their first real conversation in sync, their physical ones were as well. Both Dom and Chase grew hard (or harder in the case of the latter) as they thought about each other and how physically attracted to one another they were, especially in their current states: Dom all hot and sweaty following a long day of manual labor, Chase looking all ripe and about to blow from being another day pregnant with twins Dom correctly assumed had to be coming very soon.

Since the expectant man's hormones had gotten all out of whack, he had them to blame, which he did. The supposedly straight general contractor in the next room over couldn't blame whacked out body chemistry for his response, leaving him curious, slightly concerned, and still painfully erect as he pushed off the door and took his six pack to the fridge, taking one from it as he did.

"Maybe it's 'cause he reminds me of Melinda?" Dom reasoned aloud as he twisted off the cap of his Coors Light, thinking about his ex-wife somewhat fondly for the first time in a long time. "That's gotta be it…"

He and Melinda's separation and subsequent divorce hadn't been fun or easy to say the least. Dom didn't even know why it'd happened, it just seemed like Melinda had lost interest in him and their marriage, which sucked at first, but then things got really bad when his now ex got really nasty and vindictive… Melinda put Dom through the ringer for reasons he still didn't fully understand, resulting in him being financially raked over the coals.

Between the child and spousal support Melinda's lawyer had secured her, it didn't take long before Dom was having trouble making ends meet. As a result, he more often than not now found himself at least half a state away from the crazy apartment he now lived in, as well as from his kids, who he only got custody of every other weekend. It was only because of them Dom had the apartment, seeing as he pretty much lived out of hotels now, closer to where good, steady work, and much needed money were, thanks a lot, Melinda! But anyway…

Even though he'd always considered himself to be straight, Dom knew when another guy was handsome and/or good looking, both of which Chase certainly was. That being said, he'd never been attracted to another man before, nor had he wondered till a few minutes prior what it would be like to be with one? The only reason he could come up with as to why he now was, was because maybe all ripe and looking ready to blow, Chase reminded Dom of Melinda some four years ago, right before she'd gone into labor with their twins, a boy named Connor, and a girl named Chloe.

While there were many differences between the two, such as Chase being handsome rather than pretty, his face was scruffy instead of smooth, and from what Dom had seen of them, his legs were more muscular and much more hairy than Melinda's. There were some other differences too, but in the end, Chase and his ex also shared several similarities, starting with their breasts…

Already busty to begin with, Melinda's had positively blown up while she was pregnant, and then gotten bigger still while she was nursing the twins. It went without saying that their further development made her husband at the time, very happy. Dom always wanted to have his hands and/or mouth on them, but unfortunately, rarely got the chance… Melinda almost always feigned disinterest, and/or claimed (probably rightfully so, to be fair) that she was "too tired" to do anything, even when Dom told her he'd be happy to do all the work. He was left doing a lot more looking than touching or sucking…

So while he didn't know what Chase's chest had looked like prior to him getting pregnant, he figured it hadn't been so big, round, perky and/or full. It was also probably a safe bet that the other man's nipples hadn't been so prominent, and therefore probably hadn't poked through his shirt the way they did now… But since the other man's pecs had come to be breasts, it was (somewhat) natural Dom found them appealing, but there were other parts of Chase's body he liked too, like his belly…

While it looked very similar to Melinda's back when she'd been at her ripest, Chase's belly was bigger by nearly a third. Dom didn't know if a male pregnancy was all that different from a female one (other than how it typically came to be and ended) but reasoned Chase's twins (really, his sister's) had grown bigger than his own had because the other man was bigger than Melinda and therefore, afforded them more room to grow?

Big, bloated breasts and belly aside, Chase was a decently sized guy. He wasn't as big as Dom, but still big enough that even though his pregnancy was considerably larger than Melinda's, Chase carried it well and from what Dom had seen of him, didn't appear to be as burdened by his condition as his ex had been by hers.

"Goddamn…" he exhaled after downing his first bottle of beer. "I've gotta get laid!" He said as he shook his head. "And figure out what to do for dinner… Shoulda stopped at the store instead of just 7-Eleven," he groaned.

Dom was about to order another pizza when there was a knock on the door. The door connecting he and Chase's rooms…

"Huh…" he grunted as he headed towards it. "Didn't take him long to figure out he needed something," he chuckled as he turned the deadbolt and unlocked it.

Obviously, Dom knew by then he was going to see belly when he opened the door, but somehow, he was still surprised when he did. As he looked down at it head-on, he couldn't help but somewhat seriously wonder if Chase wasn't actually having triplets and somehow didn't know it?  Granted, the doors connecting their rooms weren't as wide as the fronts, but they were close and yet the width of Chase's pregnancy nearly filled them.

"Sorry to disturb," the doubly pregnant man apologized with a smile, his right hand bracing him on the doorframe, his left held behind his back.

"No problem at all," Dom shook his head. "You caught me just before I ordered dinner."

"Oh, good!"

He chuckled. "Not really… I was about to order another pizza," he rolled his eyes.

"Nothin' wrong with pizza!" Chase shook his head.

"No, expect when you have it two or three times a week!"

"Oh…" he chuckled. "I try to limit my pizza consumption to once a week. Succeed most of the time unless they're craving it again," he nodded down at his belly. "Anyway, how 'bout you put off pizza one more day and join me for…" he paused as he brought his hand from behind his back and revealed, "Steak!"

"Steak!" Dom beamed as he stared at the two Chase was holding.

"Ribeye."

"Yum!"

"Right? So you interested?" Chase asked.

Dom very much was and was about to reply as such, but he stopped himself. "I, um…"

"You what?"

"There's only two."

"Uh huh…" Chase nodded.

"Aren't they both for you?"

"What?! No!" He laughed. "I know it looks like it, but big as this thing is…" he nodded towards his belly again. "It's pretty much all baby now, so I can't eat too much at a time."

"Oh, right…" Dom nodded. "I remember when my… I mean, I've heard that before," he caught himself, not wanting to bring up Melinda or her pregnancy right now, if ever. "Makes sense."

"So you can have a whole steak to yourself and maybe even some of mine if I don't finish it," Chase offered.

"Are you sure?"

"Yep!" He smiled. "I mean, only if you want… I'm not trying to force myself or my meat on you!" He chuckled and winked.

"No one's ever had to force meat on me before!" Dom laughed and winked back.

"Oh, is that so?"

"If you couldn't tell, I like my meat!" He winked again as he raised his right arm and flexed his bicep as proof.

"Very nice," Chase replied with a nod. He wanted to say more, something else about meat, but managed to refrain and instead said, "Looks like you hit the gym pretty regularly."

"Actually, I don't," Dom shook his head. "Not as much as I should… I'm a general contractor so I'm always lifting or hauling around something or other."

"That explains it."

"Yeah."

"You must be busy after that big storm…"

"Oh yeah…" he nodded.

"That's why I'm staying here," Chase shared before going into detail about what had happened to his house.

"Woof!" Dom exhaled after he'd finished.

"I know, right..?" The pregnant man rolled his eyes. "It's probably gonna be at least another month before I get to go home."

"Aside from every other weekend, I'll probably be here for a while too," Dom said.

"What happens every other weekend?"

Shit… He hadn't meant to bring up the kids or his homelife (if he could even call it that,) but it was just so easy to talk to Chase. So natural…

"Just promised myself I'd make it back home every couple weeks and actually put my apartment to use," he shrugged. "Just get away, you know…"

"Makes total sense. Everyone needs a break."

"Right," he nodded. "So how were you planning on cooking those already delicious looking steaks?"

"Well, actually…" Chase replied with a small smile and sheepish giggle. "I was hoping you'd cook them… However you like!"

"Yeah, no problem," Dom nodded again.

"You sure you don't mind?"

"Not at all."

"Awesome!" The doubly pregnant man grinned. "I've got whatever you need in my kitchen."

"Nice. Want me to cook 'em on the grill out in the courtyard?" Dom asked.

"So long as you don't mind a little field trip?"

"Worth it… The grill's the best way to do a steak!"

"Yeah, it is!" Chase agreed.

"Lemme just get changed real quick and then…"

"Yeah, sure," he waved as he stepped back from the door. "Take your time. I'll leave this door unlocked so just pop over when you're ready."

"Will do," Dom nodded. "Gimme like ten minutes. Wanna hop in the shower, but I'll be quick," he promised with a wink.

"Take your time," Chase smiled as he closed his door behind him but didn't lock it.

Ten minutes. In ten minutes, Dom would be in his room, cooking him dinner and then, eating his meat. Chase couldn't wait.
