I couldn't care less about Popeye, but there is pretty much no way for Saitama to take on high end Toon Force users to be frank, Saitama's big problem is that he don't really works like many people think he would, he doesn't actually has any supernatural power to always win or be the strongest and until quite recently even lacked really good feats let alone hax(hell he couldn't even fly or breath in space), he is just too strong for his own Verse and that is frankly a not very impressive Verse in the grand scheme of things(which is also why Saitama regularily lost in discussions about if he could beat even just base versions of Superman, Wonder Woman, Silver Surfer, Goku, Toriko, etc..., with the only defense that he is allegedly a joke character).

2022-10-10 22:04:30 +0000 UTCThe actual problem is, pretty much any prominent western superhero has versions/feats that make even MUI Goku look like a little child, so it's quite easy to let the superhero logically win if they want that. Just look at what weak versions DB used for Thor and Wonder Woman's fight(where they additionally lowballed both hard) in contrast to what they used for Thor against Vegeta, and they could do the exact same in a theoretical Wonder Woman vs Vados DB for example(just use base WW's cosmical/multiversal highest end feats, absurd scaling to plank time and more or one of WW's countless cosmical to abstract versions, and Vados is utterly screwed). And Toon Force is pretty much just goofy reality warping, while prominent high power characters in anime like Saitama or even Goku are often not very impressive in terms of hax in general.

Nine times out of ten this ends up more or less chalked up to "Anime is more realistic than cartoons, meaning Anime characters are more limited in their bullshit than cartoons are." Goku vs. Superman is probably one of the best known examples of this, where Goku's strength is NOT infinite, while Superman's is, meaning Goku can't beat superman.

2022-10-09 15:17:09 +0000 UTCI was in the Saitama's corner until they listed the character feats and abilities at the start of the battle. You just can't beat "Toon Force", period. DevilArtemis did the animation for the 3D part when they are in space. The 3D Popeye was very striking when I first watched this and then I heard about it later and checked the credits.
