The way I understand it is that The king is the actual king and the wizard king is more like the leader of the Magical Knights

Also, Curtis we can somewhat compare Wizard King and King here to how things were in Naruto where there were the Kage and their nations Feudal Lord.
The King is basically the leader the Kingdome where the Feudal Lord is the leader of the nation and the Hokage the leader of their village that is part of that nation. (Though both the Wizard King and Kage are majorly involved in defending their home)
There are some differences but I'm not that deep in the lore of the leadership of Naruto and Black Clover so that's all I can go into right now.

Rades is interesting in the way he came to be right now. He is a peasant with great magical power but of course because of the standing of him and royalty he was mistreated.
However, despite being a peasant who was mistreated, that's not the reason he's doing what he's doing. He has an ego and honestly believes his magic is the best of the best and that because the magic knights wouldn't acknowledge his magic, he has a reason turned to outright terrorism.
It's interesting to me because so far, we haven't seen someone of his standing go this far in the wrong direction. With Asta and Yuno they are trying to prove they can become the Wizard King despite being of lower standing than the royalty.
This guy here is just attacking the kingdom that shunned him over his ego. It's just really neat.

Fuegoleon admitting that Yami had better foresight than him for being the only Captain to pick Asta is an amazing statement in all honesty.
And i also hadn’t thought about this before, but Rades could’ve well been right up the Black Bulls’ alley for him being a commoner with high level mana (on par with nobles just like Luck) and also a very rare type of magical ability. Instead, it’s crazy and really cool to think that Yami still wouldn’t even bother in considering him and instead opt for someone like Magna, whose a lower level commoner with an average and limited fire magical abilities.
It just goes on to show that Yami’s foresight is really something else and that he bases his squad in a different and special way compared to all
the others.

As a fanboy of House Lannister from Game of Thrones(Mostly for Tyrion and Tywin) I love that the Crimson Lions have Fuego and Leo; both are good doods on top of being commendable badasses.
When Fuego acknowledged Noelle's potential and considered Asta as a rival, he cemented himself in my top 10 favorites of this show.
Edit: Rades' reasons for being what he is resonated with me a slight bit since I despise entitlement and the idea of "royalty/nobility". Rades is a symptom of the problem they made. He may be a detestable POS, but I sympathize with his plight.
