You should also mention that the luck stat in Fate is fittingly more like Fate manipulation hax, and that Saber's supernatural instinct played a part as well.

This isn't relevant to the show in any way, so it's not spoilers, but when Taiga says she sent one of "her guys" with Sakura, she means Yakuza. Her dad is a local crime boss.

As a resident Fate nerd, I'll try my hand at explaining things in this episode. First off, Rin's pendant that used to be her fathers. It is charged with mana over the years and can be used like a storage battery to expend that mana in the form of a spell. It had been gathering mana the entire time her father owned it, as well as when it was locked in the box she opened in the first episode. It was exceptionally well-charged, yet to revive Shirou and replace his heart? She used up all of it. Hope he was worth it!
Lancer's Gay Bulge technique (it's a community meme) basically bends reality to make it hit the opponent. The anime represents that by showing Saber block it, and then time stops, rewinds, and then tries again from a different angle. It's their way of visualizing a reality altering attack. Saber, luckily, has supernatural intuition, so much so that her instincts can override the Gay Bulge and turn it into a shoulder hit.
Lastly, which actually lots of people don't know, the summoning circle in the shed was the one Irisviel made in Fate/Zero! That's why there was a circle conveniently ready to summon a Servant when a qualified master got near. Why exactly it was our same Saber again, well... who can say?

Saber (upon Shirou stopping her from killing Archer): Did you just chop-block me?!

Aye, you're a badass when your first act as a kid is whooping other kids in a fight to get them to call you their leader.

Notice how in this episode, Lancer keeps mentioning his master in a quite, disdainful way. Despite his cockiness, the guy doesn't exactly take pleasure in killing an innocent guy and is only doing so out of his orders (only getting excited when Shirou could fight back). So once again, seems like a Lancer is stuck with an unsavory master. This class just has no luck at all.

Saber probably having ptsd from having her master (also named Emiya) use a command spell to stop her from achieving victory, again.
(no spoilers) Regarding Lancer's Noble Phantasm, it's not fully explained in the anime (it is in the visual novel). But basically, it reverses cause and effect. Normally, the cause "attacking an enemy" leads to the effect of "piercing their heart" if done successfully. But Lancer's Gae Bolg reverses that, the spear pierces the enemy's heart the moment he uses it, and therefore it always hits. It's basically an attack that will always pierce the enemy's heart 100% of the time.
The only reason Saber was able to divert it into a less lethal wound is that her luck stat is high enough to give her a chance at deflecting an unmissable attack. Kinda a black eye for lancer when what is supposed to be a guaranteed critical hit misses.

I do think Lancer acted pretty well. He had to kill Shirou, so he tried to do so quickly first time and in a way where he wouldnt realize second time. So he was trying to minimize how much he hurt Shirou.
Also, his legend is awesome and i cannot wait for you to learn the actual name, rather than just where he is from.
