When I watched this episode I started to think Noelle could control her magic the entire time, she just had so much self-doubt from how terrible her siblings treated her. She does love her family, which makes it hurt to hear those words all the more, especially from her eldest brother. She was convincing herself that she could not do it, thus it manifests as such. Magic is much stronger when the mage using it has a clear head, just like with anything practical. She's only failing because she's telling herself that she cannot do it. Kahono was a blessing for both Noelle and Asta, though more so for Noelle. The Black Bulls' comraderie and how they treat each other like family is always something I smile at. Sure they have weird quirks, bicker, fight, and act like fools, but they'd fight to the death for each other.
