I get the feeling that Lunge has done quite a bit of soul searching while he's been on vacation. I can't remember him ever giving words of encouragement to anyone before now. It might be because he has a soft-spot for children, but I can't be sure since I think Wim might be the first child he's ever interacted with. I was also super-stoked when he was actually considering writing to his grandson. For most of the series he's been estranged from his family and blown every opportunity to be with them. So the fact that he's finally considering taking the first step to reaching out to them is kind of heartwarming.
