To use it you have to die and in a world like Re:Zero that isn't something that's commonly instant. It's a world of blades, spirits and psychopaths'. We get to see just how dying over and over will affect Subaru and how that changes him as a character.

Reinhard is like the main character of another anime series who already beat all the main villains there and just happened to stroll into this anime with cool one liners and being OP as hell heh.

2021-07-28 13:20:07 +0000 UTCI feel like the biggest strength Re:Zero has aside from its characters is that it immediately makes sure you know that return by death isn’t a crutch, yes it allows Subaru to have a second chance but you also understand why he wouldn’t just use it over and over, he literally has to die to use it and that’s not a very fun time
