On another note I believe Subaru was begging to die was because he doesn't completely understand his ability yet. He wanted to die before he hit another "save point".

2021-08-17 14:19:51 +0000 UTCthe thing to always remember about Re:Zero is that it doesnt apply this "chivalry in death" thing that most anime do, death is pain and suffering, no matter what it is whether it be torture or losing loved ones, death hurts more, people like the knights dont know that which is why the obey chivalry but Subaru knows all too well thats why he he ran from the whale, there are times when Subaru's hero complex interferes and he has to save people like his suicide in 4B but when he thinks about it for 2 seconds he realises the pain hes about to go through
