Noriko was a rough point to this series for me. In hindsight, I can appreciate her character. But they really pit any loyalties you have to Chidori against Noriko, is how it feels to me. The writers just love to see her suffer... Katsuhira having his big drowning-out-the-rest-of-the-world flashback at the moment she tries to confess her feelings to him... And I was really fond of Chidori from the start, so I definitely resented Noriko a bit during my first watch-through. Not that Katsuhira is obligated to return her feelings, of course, but she's done so much for him over the years. It's rough seeing him take such an interest in Noriko when he barely gives Chidori's presence in his life a second thought.
