Paraphrasing of course but considering the Dad Sanji had and the dad Sanji deserved Zeff... the absolute immense difference is so polarizing, really the Germa backstory does such a fantastic job at making Sanji a more completed and just a truly fantastic character and makes his story with Zeff that much more touching

2021-07-08 07:19:45 +0000 UTCHere’s a fun story to retell about DBS Saturdays My friends and I would come together at my apartment at the time and open up a few beers and binge that hour on Fuji TV. We knew what was going to happen with Luffy and Sanji since we all read the manga, BUT that Goku vs Jiren fight was unforgettable. Especially since no one knew what the hell was gonna happen. I had the TV linked to Japanese satellite TV and we watched those episodes without subbed at 8:00 PM EST on Fuji every Saturday. That specific weekend we streamed it on Twitter as we were watching live. So about 4K-5K people were seeing our Twitter stream as my friends and I were fanboying to that Goku Jiren fight. As much as I’m enjoying the DBS manga, I do miss the anime

2021-07-06 21:37:25 +0000 UTCI believe it's less so that Sanji wants to protect Luffy, and more that his spirit has just been broken. He's been put into the same situation as when he was a kid by being beaten to a pulp, his newfound family from Baratie is being held hostage and his hands, which he values most for his cooking ability, are rigged to blow up if he tires to run away. I think after everything they've been through, under normal circumstances if push came to shove he wouldn't care if Luffy took on an Emperor, but at this point this is the only option he has left, to chase them away.

Back then Dragon Ball Super was still airing during the tournament of power arc. If I recall correctly, DBS aired at 9 AM and One Piece at 930 back then. When this episode of One Piece came out DBS was at the part where Goku tries to do the spirit bomb on jiren and jiren bounces it back and we think goku has died and then when he reappears he's in the imperfect ultra instinct form. Those two episodes aired as an hour long episode as well. So, on October 1, 2017 DBS didn't air and One Piece episode 807 and 808 aired at the 9 o'clock hour. Then on October 8, 2017 One Piece didn't air and DBS aired episode 109 and 110 at the 9 o'clock hour.
