Honestly, the shift work would be perfect under normal circumstances. It'd mean there is ALWAYS a well rested and ready army standing on defense, 24/7. The invaders would never have a chance to rest and would eventually be driven out. Unfortunately, anything related to Kaido is not normal.

Remember when they met Chopper and he had only 3 forms? All zoans have 3 forms. So Jack switched to what would be Chopper's 'Human Point' is, his one that most resembles him being a human. The form that he tried to talk to the villagers on Drum Island and got shot because they considered him a 'monster', but still has Zoan characteristics to his look.

Dogstorm's strategy is actually quite smart; fight for 12 and rest for 12. Jack's group would tire out before the Mink's group. Rome's legionaries did something similar I believe, where they'd have everyone in formation, guys in the front line fight for a bit, then someone would signal them to fall to the back of the line and then the guys behind the front take over, so essentially fatigue is not a factor.

The highest bounty we have seen thus far was ace's totalling at 550 million berry's. It just goes to show the scale of what we are dealing with here when an underling of a yonko is already worth almost twice as much. Just imagine the levels of these guys.
