Love the parallels with Crocodile and Doflamingo. Both warlords. One trying to take over a country one did take over a country. One doing the work in the shadows (baroque works) and one doing it out in the open as a king. And Luffy knocking Crocodile from the shadows by blasting him up through the bedrock and into the sky as he falls for the world to see him. Luffy knocking Doflamingo from the heavens down into the bedrock into hell.

Yep, can't download or watch it. Mega just drops the DL to 50kb/s and it'd take it over 3 hours. Guess i'll have to wait a day or two for it to sort out its crap

I think what people try to point out, more often than not is that Luffy isn't at the point more often than not when these fights happen where he COULD win them solo. Which is fine, but it DOES mean that Luffy is as Luffy does, Barking up his weight class normally. I mean, it's why we love him, but it IS fair to point out instances where Luffy could've have won solo.

Luffy's final attack here is portrayed differently than in the manga, in the manga Luffy's final Kong Gun absolutely crushes through Doffy's attack and wrecks him.. However in the anime, since they need to stretch for time, they have them struggling back and forth for like a minute before it finally happens. This is one of this times that the anime fluff kind of annoys me because it actually changes the flow of a fight, and makes it look like more of a struggle when it's actually one side completely overpowering the other. It happens again in some later fights as well and is a bit annoying.

A lot of people (especially in the toxic powerscaling community) claim that luffy's victories have all been cop outs after the time skip up until this point. They say luffy has either been saved by other people every time he fought a stronger opponent or has been defeated by them before and for some reason they just didn't finish him. Like here, luffy ran out of haki but was saved by the townspeople and ended up defeating doffy because of it. I personally don't mind since that was luffy's main power all along; drawing the support of strangers with his lively spirit. I just wanted to read your guys' toughts on this.

Nah it was close. I mean luffy did run out of haki while fighting doffy both in the manga and anime. The thing you are talking about is most likely the king kong gun. It is true that in the manga luffy one shot the 16 holy bullets, but other than that, there aren't any significant differences. Other than pacing......

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if im remembering right, wasn't it that the anime they made it so that doffy was more "evenly matched" against luffy? Although I say evenly matched its more like he was able to stop and counter some attacks, not actually stronger, but in the manga didn't luffy just beat his ass with out daffy being able to do anythin

Fighting Doffy was so hard because of the range and versatility of his string fruit. If only Luffy knew someone with a devil fruit power that could burn strings. Too bad there isn’t a flare-flare fruit or something that might be some sort of a natural counter to Doffy’s devil fruit power and had been established as a major plot point at the beginning of the arc. But all jokes aside, it would’ve been hard for Oda to write Sabo into the main battle due to the nature of his power against Doffy.
