in japan it is legal to marry at 16, at least in the 90s,(don't know the current laws) though a 40 year old marrying a 16 year old is still seen as creepy, it's typically someone around the 5 year range of your age. though the more... risky stuff like that is done in shoujo romance series, especially during the 90s, I mean you saw that with Sakura's parents in the series I sponsor lol.

As you can prolly see, this is a series I have a rough time recommending to people, given how it starts XD I originally read the manga when I was 14, so it's weird looking back. As a character, Onizuka grows a bit though. And while the series is definitely ecchi, it's not the draw for me. It's a fun ride.

Onizuka: He has a fetish for interactions with younger women, more precisely, a Daddy Complex, so he likes all the pervy interactions but won't cross the line physically. This makes him a pervert but not a predator. Even in his fantasy, he is envisioning being married to a 16 year old, which would be legal and also satisfy his fetish.

That's interesting... I guess that "tough love" is the purest form for some people.

I'm honestly very impressed with how much the delinquents in Class O turned around. I've been reading a lot about the French Foreign Legion which has a long history of harsh discipline and corporal punishment. Despite this those men who stay enlisted are considered some of the bravest and most well-traine soldiers in the world. Incredibly loyal to their unit. The shift after Onizuka "tortured" them reminded me a little of that.
