Tomoko wasn't my absolute favourite character, (the ditzy airhead thing kind of gets old) but she was so sweet that you didn't want anything bad to happen to her. Also you said you're surprised that the girls were worse bullies than the guys. It's honestly not that uncommon, guys will just beat the ever loving shit out of you. Girls will destroy your reputation and do their damnedest to emotionally scar you. I've worked with several women that said they'd rather work with men than women. Largely because of the toxic work environment, that quite a few of them like to create.
