He burnt down a random house to signal Askeladd and the vikings to come raid the village. It wasn't the old lady's but he pretty much got her killed, unfortunatly.

2020-11-18 21:08:22 +0000 UTCI always found the dynamic between Askeladd and Thorfinn to be interesting. Askeladd takes on a sort of mentor/antagonist role in Thorfinn's life. Granted the mentor part is definitely more in the tough love/indifferent category.

2020-11-18 17:04:24 +0000 UTCThis is sort of a representation of the danger of single-mindedly following a single goal, and using whatever means necessary to accomplish it. Thorfinn knows what he's doing is wrong, but he's stuck on revenge so will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

Reminds me of Berserk and how Guts isn't really a hero but a man out for revenge. This reminds you that Thorfins goal may be something good but the life he's living isn't. Great show.
