SEASON 1 ONLY OF “TOKYO GHOUL”?
Added 2020-12-24 14:20:34 +0000 UTCYou guys have always steered me right on anime, and it sounds like they really make a mess of TG after season 1... So, do you guys think it best to just enjoy the goodness of the first season, then I’ll have you guys explain to me whatever needs to be tied up?
I actually enjoy reading you guys’ breakdown of things, so I’d be fine with that. If we go this route, I’ll start our next series at this level as soon as season 1 of TG concludes. 😊

It has nothing to do with manga elitists. The second season just isn't good. Any time the animation studio is tasked with continuing a manga based story, they always destroy it. Most of season 2 doesn't make any sense and comes off as a very weird deviation from where season 1 was leading to. Not to mention it doesn't continue due to season 3. If Season 2 was backed by a season 1 that was similar it wouldn't be bad but because of how different they are, it just doesn't really work.

2020-12-27 08:59:25 +0000 UTCSeason 2 is a spectacular watch, you really should make take the time. Seeing as you dont read manga you really wont notice how it deviates, and theres some seriously intense emotional moments and plot "wrap ups" to experience. I implore you to at least look into a larger number of opinions, picky manga elitists be damned.

2020-12-25 22:30:56 +0000 UTCI never read the manga, but I understand what many are saying about the adaptations being way off after the first season. If we move on after the first season it'll be fine with me. It's kind of like Rosario+Vampire, they didn't make Tsukune into an actual devastating badass of a ghoul he was supposed to become. The anime is pretty lame with the panty shots lol!

2020-12-25 21:46:00 +0000 UTCNot only the potential of Re: but if season 2 root A. But The entire anime as a whole

2020-12-25 07:45:28 +0000 UTCI enjoyed it for what it was and still do but season 1 & 2 got me into this series but after reading the manga you can understand why it’s Hated

2020-12-25 07:43:50 +0000 UTCIt’s a shame this never got the FMA Brotherhood treatment. A redone anime that follows the manga properly would make this worth watching. As it stands, only season 1 is worth watching and even that cut a decent amount of development out

2020-12-25 00:12:56 +0000 UTCI think it would be a good watch although most appreciate S1 enough alone. Imo it would make a great short series but I wouldn’t be against seeing beyond S1. I’ll extend an olive branch and say it’ll interesting to see what you experience between the seasons

2020-12-24 22:36:49 +0000 UTCSeason 2 is absolutely atrocious and makes, without reading the manga, absolutely no sense at all

2020-12-24 19:22:30 +0000 UTCSeason 1 was absolutely amazing, for me Season 2 was good, but not nearly as good as the first. Then I read the manga and saw the potential Tokyo ghoul re could have.

2020-12-24 18:33:16 +0000 UTCTokyo Ghoul is one of my favorite series and one of the few I bothered to collect the manga for. With that said unfortunately I do believe the content after S1 does not live up to the potential given the source material so I will vote to move on after S1.

2020-12-24 18:14:52 +0000 UTCI thought season 1 was pretty well done adaptation of the manga some stuff slightly rearranged however season "2" or √ is basically an anime only continuation of the 1st that ends with a horrible cliffhanger thats never resolved then RE just ignores that and continues as if nothing was really changed even tho we missed the scene the previous season had been building up to and we actually got to see in the manga

2020-12-24 16:08:22 +0000 UTCTokyo Ghoul (Season 1) is a masterpiece, the emotional rollercoaster is very well done, however, season 2 doesn't have that same level of emotional investment, which hurts it in popularity. Most will just continue, because Season 1 was so well done, wanting to see where the characters end up.
2020-12-24 15:51:58 +0000 UTCWait, isn't this poll about Tokyo Ghoul?

2020-12-24 14:43:13 +0000 UTCChrome I could only hope!! That would be amazing! Concerning the manga, part 1 is actually a master piece and even as a die hard fan I can admit the Re: has its own problems shortly after the half way point, mainly being rushed, but either way I would love nothing more than a re-boot ( imagine studio Bones, wit, or madhouse!! ) but I honestly have little faith in that happening any time soon if ever

2020-12-24 14:42:44 +0000 UTCSee season 1, then wait I'd say, there's always the chance they'll remake the anime like they did with full metal alchemist brotherhood, or HXH, so it's worth waiting for the chance of a proper adaptation

2020-12-24 14:33:05 +0000 UTCSince he will probably never revisit it I say he should just watch it and enjoy it for what it is and we can fill in the blanks

2020-12-24 14:31:24 +0000 UTCThe story kind of becomes a mess after season 1. Curtis would probably still enjoy the following seasons but I think most people would want to move on.

2020-12-24 14:26:52 +0000 UTCWe're going to watch the 3rd season of tsds no matter what happens so I say go for it lad. No matter how bad an animation is at the end we just watch it
