SEASON 1 ONLY OF “TOKYO GHOUL”?

It has nothing to do with manga elitists. The second season just isn't good. Any time the animation studio is tasked with continuing a manga based story, they always destroy it. Most of season 2 doesn't make any sense and comes off as a very weird deviation from where season 1 was leading to. Not to mention it doesn't continue due to season 3. If Season 2 was backed by a season 1 that was similar it wouldn't be bad but because of how different they are, it just doesn't really work.

Season 2 is a spectacular watch, you really should make take the time. Seeing as you dont read manga you really wont notice how it deviates, and theres some seriously intense emotional moments and plot "wrap ups" to experience. I implore you to at least look into a larger number of opinions, picky manga elitists be damned.

I never read the manga, but I understand what many are saying about the adaptations being way off after the first season. If we move on after the first season it'll be fine with me. It's kind of like Rosario+Vampire, they didn't make Tsukune into an actual devastating badass of a ghoul he was supposed to become. The anime is pretty lame with the panty shots lol!

It’s a shame this never got the FMA Brotherhood treatment. A redone anime that follows the manga properly would make this worth watching. As it stands, only season 1 is worth watching and even that cut a decent amount of development out

I think it would be a good watch although most appreciate S1 enough alone. Imo it would make a great short series but I wouldn’t be against seeing beyond S1. I’ll extend an olive branch and say it’ll interesting to see what you experience between the seasons

Season 1 was absolutely amazing, for me Season 2 was good, but not nearly as good as the first. Then I read the manga and saw the potential Tokyo ghoul re could have.

Tokyo Ghoul is one of my favorite series and one of the few I bothered to collect the manga for. With that said unfortunately I do believe the content after S1 does not live up to the potential given the source material so I will vote to move on after S1.

I thought season 1 was pretty well done adaptation of the manga some stuff slightly rearranged however season "2" or √ is basically an anime only continuation of the 1st that ends with a horrible cliffhanger thats never resolved then RE just ignores that and continues as if nothing was really changed even tho we missed the scene the previous season had been building up to and we actually got to see in the manga

Tokyo Ghoul (Season 1) is a masterpiece, the emotional rollercoaster is very well done, however, season 2 doesn't have that same level of emotional investment, which hurts it in popularity. Most will just continue, because Season 1 was so well done, wanting to see where the characters end up.

Concerning the manga, part 1 is actually a master piece and even as a die hard fan I can admit the Re: has its own problems shortly after the half way point, mainly being rushed, but either way I would love nothing more than a re-boot ( imagine studio Bones, wit, or madhouse!! ) but I honestly have little faith in that happening any time soon if ever

See season 1, then wait I'd say, there's always the chance they'll remake the anime like they did with full metal alchemist brotherhood, or HXH, so it's worth waiting for the chance of a proper adaptation

The story kind of becomes a mess after season 1. Curtis would probably still enjoy the following seasons but I think most people would want to move on.

We're going to watch the 3rd season of tsds no matter what happens so I say go for it lad. No matter how bad an animation is at the end we just watch it
