I'll grant you she didn't know his commandment, but she knew enough about his magic for the purposes of the fight. Namely, she was aware he had no magic following the Goddess' seal. Lack of knowledge being her weakness is very appropriate for the Sin of Gluttony, and I wouldn't consider overwhelming power to even be a weakness of hers given a certain manga fight that'll probably be in season 4. Though granted it was a fight with prep time, but it was horribly one-sided for who she was up against.

Two corrections, shes not immune to Commandments, she can just counteract them given proper preparation which is what she lacked against Galand. Secondly, Grayroad is a she, or at least an it, not a he tho xD

People underestimate Hawk's Magical Ability: Transpork. It may seem laughably weak now but remember how big he gets when he grows up. Note: in the Manga, Derriere hit Hawk's Mom with a 54 Combo Star punch, which was enough to crush Meliodas' arms.

Merlin didn't know what Galand's Abilities were, neither his Magical Ability or his Commandment, so she was not able to formulate a proper strategy using spells. Her only weaknesses are lack of knowledge and overwhelming power.

It's a testament to Merlin's power that the only thing in the series that every character agrees with it that she must be cheating. Also that Meliodas' cooking is clearly a plague on culinary arts, but mostly the Merlin thing. Seriously, immunity to commandments, gargantuan stores of magic, able to maintain spells indefinitely, easily smarter than the entire cast, bar none, and consistently able to punch WAY outside her weight class. Greyroad was about nine times stronger than her (4710 to 39,000), and she bodied him immediately, effectively, and with one spell as he ran for his life, reducing the entire castle to rubble as collateral damage. Just saying, she's pretty ridiculous, especially since at no point in time does she ever get a power up. she's just as strong now, after crushing Greyroad and driving off Fraudrin, as she was when she was desperately trying to find some way to not have all of the sins die against Galand. I guess Endless Whirl is a newly created spell she was working on, because that would've ended the fight REAL quick.

Merlins power is completely broken. She can basically start off any spell and let it go forever. Lets just say she has a spell that lets it rain meteors. She could wipe out the entire world if she wanted to

I’m not sure if you noticed, but when Meliodas reflected that fire attack back at Derieri and Monspiet, Monspiet’s body language was worth noticing. Most of the time in anime if you’re protecting someone from an attack you throw your whole body in front of it, but he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in. I won’t elaborate any more, but it is a sign that their relationship is different from the other commandment pairs.
