I'm not sure I'd class that as a second level. More accurately, I'd say that it was him using all of his power instead of half. Ulquiora had effectively a bankai, two very distinct levels with a massive gap in power between them. Stark's is more akin to Yummichika's Zanpakuto. It's the same power, but he was only using part of it at first, just like Yumichika's usual sword is strong, but it's not even remotely close to his full power.

Ulquiora isn't the only Arrancar with a 2nd Release, Stark has his too, that is why he is stronger than Ulquiora. A lot of people miss the fact that they have two ressurections. Lilynette has one (guns) and Stark has one (Wolves). They can both use the same body, since they are both the same being, they just can't fully merge together after they split into two beings.

I love how pretty much everyone feels more sad then happy about the thought of Starrk being defeated. Not only are his powers really cool, but he really just comes across as such a likable guy, and his bond with Lilynette is so endearing. Really glad you ended up liking him so much Curtis :)

I'm pretty sure that Stark is stronger, at least in terms of spiritual power. Barragan would almost certainly win in a fight, but the espada's ranking are on spiritual power. In that regard, Stark was so powerful, as a hollow, that everyone around him just died no matter how strong they were. The only person who could survive his presence was himself after he split into two, hence his aspect of death is loneliness. Barragan is definitely strong, but we've seen hollows around him, so he's not 'everything near me dies' level.

So something that's kinda funny is that it's hinted at reaper, good ol #2, is actually stronger than stark. It's just that Clark kent is a dick so he made reaper #2 to piss him off 😂. Also to release his sword he said " Rot Arrogante" kinda hints at how he dies.
