I was honestly concerned that Okarin would fail in locating Part-Timer and Too-Too-Roo! Now that he's succeeded, we have a shot!

OKARIN ACTUALLY FOUND THEM! - Stein's Gate 0 #23

Comments

Just some food for thought- The time machines both Okabe and Mayuri and Suzuha have can only hold two people, and one of them is broken. It also just so happens to be that 18000 BC was the real world year some of the first human bones were found in Japan

Back to Beta Okabe, he sets out to deceive the world by looking for Mayuri and Suzuha. So what happens to them at this point? Well who knows, they can't return to their time because it will be replaced by the Steins;Gate timeline and they would risk messing something up. Their fate is unknown, but there's good reason to believe Beta Okabe dies here as there is nothing left for him to do and that machine can only fit 2 people in it. If Beta Okabe did not leave in the time machine from 2025, then after they send the Drine's and video messages, it would trigger the world line change to Steins Gate as well as his reading steiner, meaning that Beta Okabe would take over the original Okabe's memories, which is something he would not want. He didn't want to taint that original Okabe with all his horrible experiences in Steins;Gate 0, he pretty much sacrificed himself for himself. Wow this comment ended up long, but RIP Beta Okabe, he used his life to find the Steins Gate world line and died happily knowing he saves his past selves, even if he never got to see Kurisu again or experience the Steins Gate world line himself.

Lmao Curtis I think we goofed. You probably know by now but this is the last episode of Steins;Gate 0. vrv probably listed the OVA as episode 24 like crunchyroll did, damn fools. That post-credit scene though, one of my favourite scenes in any piece of media ever. It is so badass. But now you can see that this is actually a prequel to the second half of episode 23 and beyond for the original ending, it is not an alternate ending like you had originally believed. So we see that all of Steins;Gate 0 was to show us what was necessary for the original Okabe to get to Steins;Gate. We are shown the life of the Okabe (we call him Beta Okabe) that sent the phone message to the original Okabe in Steins;Gate. Seeing that all this was needed for Okabe to actually reach Steins Gate is what really makes me appreciate the ending to the original even more. So to talk about Beta Okabe a bit (the Okabe that gave up on saving Kurisu and the one we followed in Steins;Gate 0), he comes up with the solution of deceiving the world through the events of Steins;Gate 0 as well as how to deal with the organizations involved and he sends everything necessary, such as the phone message and the DRine's. The year is 2025 when he does this. We know he is "supposed" to die in 2025, so instead of going the route of torture like what happened in ep 20 when he went to 2036, instead he proves that he can "Deceive the world!" by disappearing from 2025 in the time machine, because that would basically be the same as dying in 2025, right? Oh I want to quickly touch on a couple hints he used to determine you can deceive the world. One of them would actually be the professor, when he asks Beta Okabe what if instead of the time machine being destroyed on this day, someone swoops in and uses it at the right moment, having it disappear from this timeline. In this way it is still erased from this timeline. Another would be when Beta Okabe went to 2036 and Daru said he did "die" in 2025, his mind was destroyed to where he was basically dead, but not actually dead. More deceiving going on here.

I don't do reactions to movies, but I may try to watch it once I finally make the time to watch the Konosuba movie. :-)

Will you be watching the Steins;Gate movie? Imo it's a perfect capstone for this story, glad you enjoyed 0 as much as I did.
