Very cool! 😊

Also Otohime said that one day someone will guide Shirahoshi on the right path ;) That's a big theory for many years

Just something to make you think about the story: On the Poneglyph that Robin read there was someone mentioned "JoyBoy". He promised something to the mermaid princess 800 years ago and couldn't fulfill it, and that's why JoyBoy's apology was written on the Poneglyph. Now after you watched this episode. The current mermaid princess (Shirahoshi) which has the same power did make also a promise as well. She made a promise to Luffy. Now if you read the name "joyboy". Funny thing is that our main character Luffy, is also a "joyful boy" ;). THIS IS NOT A SPOILER, This was a theory that came out when that chapter got released! It made many people think about the similarities.

Kamui

That's a really interesting take! Certainly could be...

I think I get why Zoro was the only one who didn't participate with the promise, but y'all tell me if you think I'm wrong. He hasn't been able to keep any of his promises yet, he lost a fight when they were blasted away by Kuma when he promised Luffy that he would never lose a fight until he defeats Mihawk. And the other person he made a promise with died. So maybe Zoro just realizes that promises are pointless for him to make.

Im surprised they don't adapt the cover stories as filler episodes since they did that for at least one of them I think

That's VERY cool!

So, this is never covered in the anime, because it is part of the cover stories of the manga, but this is what happens to Jinbe after their parting (no spoilers): Caribou, the mud guy, goes on another mermaid kidnapping spree (because he is apparently resistant to learning from his mistakes), gets the shit kicked out of him by Jinbe, stuffed in a barrel, and dropped at the G-5 Marine base. He then goes on to have his own cover story afterwards. Small-time villans often have those. Jinbe then goes on a little adventure of his own, involving an ocean dog, a Sea Kitten, a poneglyph, and Wadatsumi the Sea Monk whom he eventually befriends. The details involve stuff from the next arc, so I'll leave it this vague. Maybe one day you can check out the cover stories, they're pretty great :)

Aeco

Luffy has to remind them that he does have a legitimate right to determine what route they take.
