The reason he’s called a bitch pussy is because his pain threshold is some of the weakest in the series, he flip flops from badass to crybaby, and he had his crew finish off white beard after trying to act tough, he acted like a bitch in impel down in front of Magellan as well, and is only acting tough when things are going his way

Yeah a large part of it was definetely arrogance, but I dont think that you can call someone who is willing to constatnly put himeself in danger a pussy.

I have to say, Ben's argument makes sense here... if not for the fact that in every scenario he mentioned Blackbeard had his crew as backup. He may have ATTEMPTED a 1v1, but always knew he had others to finish it for him. I mean the man was literally shown in tears when Whitebeard was an inch from ending his life, and his entire crew would have died vs Magellan if Shiryu didn't help them out. As Whitebeard said its arrogance, not bravery.

I disagree DEEPLY with the idea that blackbeard is a pussy. When I saw that scene I thought that the "Pops im your son" comment was just a calculated attempt to get whitebeard to soften the blow. Which may or may not have worked depending on how you look at it. Yes, obviously blackbeard was afraid of whitebeard, but EVERYONE is the one piece world is afraid of whitebeard, the man is objectively terrifying. But at the end of the day, blackbeard was willing to challenge whitebeard directly himself to show off his power. And it takes courage fight whitebeard, even if hes fatally wounded. If he were a coward, he would made his crew kill whitebeard for him and stayed behind the entire time, but he didnt do that. He went first and put himself in mortal danger so that he could show off his abilities to the navy. Blackbeard is someone who, while he is afraid of dying, he is willing to push past that fear for the sake of his ambitions and that shows courage. He has shown that time and time again by fighting ace, magellan, and whitebeard. He could have lost and been killed in any of those fights, and he knew that, but he fought them anyway because they were necessary to achieve his ambitions. I dont think blackbeard hits the level of badassness of characters like luffy, zoro or whitebeard, who smile in the face of death, but he certainly isnt a pussy. I think he can be compared more to a character like coby, who is afraid, and will even scream or cry when faced with danger and death, but has enough courage to do what he has to to achieve his goals. Blackbeard in honestly one of my favorite characters in the series and hes kind of a fan favorite. I recognize that hes a bad person. But he was able to go from a no name pirate that probably didnt even have a bounty to one of the most dangerous men in the entire massive one piece world in only a few months. While I dont respect all of his actions, I ABSOLUTELY respect his hussle. Sorry about the massive text block I just wanted to give my opinion on one of my favorite characters.

This is the episode that illustrates that the only one who truly won this entire arc was Blackbeard. Luffy was seperated from his crew and failed to save Ace The Whitebeard Pirates lost both Ace and their captain; In theory this can also mean that the allegiances of the captains who joined Whitebeard may dissolve over time as their oaths were to Whitebeard; Not Marco or the other Division commanders. The Navy did manage to kill two of their main enemies, but at the cost of their HQ; which is a symbol of their power alongside Impel Down and Enis Lobby, which Luffy already did the honors of destroying the fear those places created, thousands of their elite Marines, and because of them appointing Blackbeard as a Warlord, who used his status to free the remaining Level 6 prisoners and also recruited Shiryu, they created an enemy far more unpredictable and dangerous than Whitebeard. The Navy has created an even more dangerous foe and seen their 3 fortresses of power neutered. Luffy and Blackbeard both have equally proven that the Navy can viably be defied and defeated. This will embolden pirates and aspiring pirates. You could get WB to sit at a table and talk. BB would just laugh and shoot you. On top of all of that, with WB gone, there is going to be a power vacuum within the pirate world now that one of the four Emperors is gone. People feared WB; not his sons. This is indeed an era changing chain of events.

what i love about the whole buggy thing, is he got most of his worshipers from a floor lower than the one he was on in impel down, meaning most of those people are a good amount stronger than buggy with a higher bounty than him

Blackbeard is certainly not be estimated. The thing is, even before in the series when Shanks met Whitebeard, Shanks described that he received a scar from Blackbeard and he wasn't holding back. Shanks warned Whitebeard about Blackbeard's strength. Despite his demeanour, Blackbeard is very strong, seemingly close to an Emperor/yonko level strength, and is still standing despite taking a point blank hit to the face from Whitebard. Now with Whitebeard's devil fruit he is certainly a beast. Akainu, despite being a villian is also a badass. Took multiple point blank hits from Whitebeard, he still put up a fight, and now is determined to kill. Throughout this war, we've seen that the admirals are on another league, none of them have taken serious damage (except Akainu).

There's a lot of debate as to exactly how Blackbeard's power works, plus there are some hints in some scenes that he wasn't a normal person even before getting the devil fruit powers. Also, anyone with the letter D in their name is special somehow, it's not just a random initial.
