what you mean you don't like orihime constantly screaming ichigo's name in her annoying whiney voice?!?!!? sub/dub she is annoying, either it's non-stop screaming of KURASKI KUN! or it's IcHiGo! I like bleach a lot, but she makes it supremely difficult sometimes to power through this anime.

Even though this form was triggered by Ichigo's need to protect, it's cool how it doesn't have any of his compassion. Instead it's his Hollow going all out without regard for anything other than taking down the enemy. It doesn't even act like his Hollow self like when it took over during the fight with Byakuya. There's no boasting or mocking.

Yeah the dub ichigo scream was about as deflating as the zodd scream in og berserk. It took all bad-assery right out the moment, I did laugh pretty hard though. Also I can't be the only one who is supremely annoyed with everything orihime in this arc. She's been kinda trash for me ever since.

Been waiting for this episode forever!

Finally Vasto Lorde Ichigo, I was waiting for you to see his real strength when fully hollowfied. Only problem is in this state he can't control his hollow so it will attack and destory anything.

I always liked Uryu as a character, ever since the beginning, but I just couldn't put him above so many other great characters in the show at this point like Ichigo, Byakuya, Rukia, Orihime, Kenny, etc. But then when I watched him, without prompt nor hesitation, fight Ulquiorra so that Orihime can have "a chance" to save an already effectively dead Ichigo, I thought it was a super cool character moment for him. But then as the fight progresses and he *loses his freaking arm*, this man still has the bravado and compassion for his friend that he tells Orihime that "Everything is fine, just focus on healing Ichigo!" as he proceeds to charge the man who just *took his freaking arm off*, it just put him right up there as one of the best characters in the show.

Vasto Lorde Ichigo here is only half power. Meaning he likely could beat any of the espada in this form if he had his full SP to neg the abilities like Barrigans.

The crazy thing is power scaling wise this hollow form is only at half of its normal spiritual pressure

Some people call this an ass-pull. I disagree. Hollow ichigo stated numerous times that he would take over if ichigo ever failed, and as for power scaling...I can understand the sentiment of ichigo maybe being a little too powerful, but remember, ichigo went from being slightly weaker than Byakuya in their fight to wrecking him prettt handily, and his was a lot less powerful and in a much less hollowified state.

this was one of the fan favorit episodes when it comes to bleach, rly sad tho that itchigo screach in the hollow form is not on par with the sub version (first time i heard it it gave me chills ) but other than that this is one of my fav episodes :) at the end will you be reacting to the movies as well ?

I haven’t seen a more one sided beat down since their first round, lol. But yeah, Ichigo going Hulk, nothing but instinct and rage. There’s no plan there, just “kill that motherfucker.” He didn’t even consider what would happen to Orihime, if Quince hadn’t caught her.

Some censorship fun facts: Ulquiorra actually rips off Uryu's arm instead of just "damaging" it. In the same vein, instead of throwing a boulder at Ulquiorra, Hollow Ichigo actually throws Ulquiorra's severed arm back at him.

So yeah Curtis that all white version of Ichigo (Hollow Ichigo) that lives inside his soul did say at some point earlier in the series that if Ichigo were to ever die that he would take over his body, so that kinda explains this form.

Tite Kubo the creator of wanted a ulquiorra to have longer more even fight with hollow ichigo but couldn't because of time. Tho I personally think he did a great job with what he could.

For people who read the original manga, it felt like FOREVER waiting for this episode to finally air. Episodes 227-265 (42 episodes) were filler, and then we had the recap episode and a couple more that sort of felt they were just dragging things out. We basically waited about a year between the first round of soul society vs arrancar fights and this episode. Being a weekly anime watcher is suffering.
