It may yet get the same treatment for Rurouni Kenshin. Oda's a good friend with the author, and I understand that, in an open discussion they had recently, the topic of bringing Rurouni Kenshin back did come up and received good press. They may be waiting to see how the Bleach return shapes up, before going to something even further back, like Rurouni Kenshin.

Super excited to see this pop up today! One piece is my favorite but Toriko is my close second favorite. This series is sorta like one piece in that you get to experience and explore different places, but also a cooking series too.

The manga is absolutely amazing from a pure action standpoint. Because the anime was only fair it didn't take off like it was expected to but the fact that it had multiple crossovers with One piece and DBZ is just a little hint at the potential this series has. I can't believe it's been so long since I completed the manga but I strongly recommend it. It's too bad they stopped at the end of the Cooking Festival Arc(which was phenomenal) because that's only 2/3 of the manga and the last 3rd is arguably the best. Knowing what I do about the manga, if I watched the anime I'd insist that a 3rd season to complete the story Must Happen. Alas, it will likely join Rurouni Kenshin and the others on the waiting list of anime that we never got the final season housing the climax of the series. The announcement for the final season of Bleach gives us hope though that one day we may see the greatest Toriko has to offer finally animated. Unfortunately Rurouni Kenshin will never get that treatment, though I think the anime is timeless.
