Lol I absolutely love one piece making these larger than life characters also feel real and dynamic within the story. Crocodile was scum and someone we just wanted Luffy to torch, but Oda is also able to realistically give us that same character in a way to support our MC while still keeping the character intact. This kind of stuff is why this saga and story are straight 🔥 🔥

So there is two things I wanna talk about here. Firstly, now that we've actually met him I can say, Jinbei was actually mentioned by name all the way back when, by the Arlong pirates right at the beginning. The amount of setup and foreshadowing One Piece has is beyond incredible. Also, I absolutely LOVE how not a single one of the prevous villains who return in this arc act differently. They are all the same characters, but with different circumstances have different motives and allegiances. There is no "actually they were nice all along", but instead all have very clear personal goals that they team up with Luffy to achieve. Honestly I just really appreciate it. It's character consistency, and it shows respect to the audience and the characters themselves.

I like how Mr.1 acts super tough, but during Mrs golden week's cover story when she used her ability to give everyone their dream clothes, he ended up in a superhero outfit, and though he kept a straight face in front of Croco boi, he gave a little internal smile 🤣

Lol I was just about to comment this but yea, that's what the take on his past is, also another theory that goes along with that is that croco is luffys mother but... I personally dont see that as true, but I can see him maybe being a woman... more for the fact I saw some rule 63 of croco as a woman and shes kinda hot. Lol

It's more of a fan theory than anything, but there is speculation Crocodile was once a woman and Ivan used hormones to make him as he is now.
