Yeah Buggy destroyed a whole town but the funniest thing to me was the most passive one of them, Mr. 3, was probably framed as the most dastardly of the 3 of them. I don't think it's that big a jump though, now if someone actually threatening like Arlong, Crocodile, Enel, or Moria joined them that'd be crazy.

These early episodes really help fill the burning, aching hole that was left when the old crew was taken away, but these jokers are just as good, if not better.
