I think the sudden boost in strength Ichigo had goes back to his inner world. If his determination or heart is shaken then his power is not at its peak. Basically since Ichigo noticed Orihime was afraid of him that placed doubt into his heart and thus weakened him, but once Orihime called out to him it removed the doubt thus the line, "I had a change of heart"

Grimmjow doesn't explicitly direct his attack, the one Ichigo took in the back, at Orihime. He tried to hit Ichigo who happened to be in line with her at the time. We all know Ichigo just set it up so he could save her and get some bad touch later as compensation.

The way I always looked at that last scene with Orihime is she’s taking a burden off Ichigo that she placed. How would you feel if you were fighting for your life for someone and you saved them from an attack and before you head back to fight they look like they’re terrified of you and then it happens again! You’d lose in a sense the will to win but death is the cause of loss. So that’s y I think his response of I can’t let myself to lose to someone like you fits perfectly.

Grimmjow’s Resurreción, Panthera, is spanish for panther, which matches well with the animal theme most of the Espada have. And I really like how it changes his fightingstyle, and the overall look of it. Definitely the coolest looking Resurreción so far in my opinion! The music and animation was really on point this episode. And don't worry Curtis, this fight is far from over yet! Get ready for even more badassery from both sides!

With all that hair Grimmjow went all SSJ3 It's really sad anime censored the underboob Harribel has going in the manga =( Orihime was flashbacking to when her hollowed brother attacked her and was afraid of Ichigo (like they explained later in the episode)
