from what I understand, and its been a while since I went through bleach, Aizen's whole thing is that he is at the absolute peak of Shinigami potential and wants to go further with the Hogyoku. So basically Aizen's is strong AF and Ichigo kinda beat a captain whose heart wasn't in it.

Rukia didnt have the Hogoyuku inside her when she gave ichigo powers she lost her powers after that THEN got the Gigai with the Hogoyuku in it. Also Ichigos powers are all his now remember he lost everything while Rukia was being taken. He had to relearn soul reaper powers with Urahara thus his new sword.

When I originally watched this series, up until now I was thinking "Man, Ichigo is really strong, beat 2 captains, seems like he's just steamrolling everyone, this might get boring." Then Aizen stops him with a finger and I'm like "never mind."

Aizen stopping Ichigo's Bankai with a single finger is one of the top moments in any series really, just the suddenness of him putting Ichigo and Renji down when it's setup like there'll at least be somewhat of a fight.
