It is the Buddhist symbol of good fortune, but it is used less in the present because the Nazis ruined a similar shape for everyone. Though there is another reason it’s shaped that way, but this reason is a spoiler. And it should be noted that the aforementioned badass coat IS a part of his bankai, specifically to help out his speed even more by not being as awkward/cumbersome to move in during combat, not just a cool costume change (though it is that too).

2020-05-05 13:39:21 +0000 UTCgod I love Ichigo's Bankai, it's so simple and clean looking, a refined black long blade and change of coat, nothing complicated needed for him just a massive jump up in speed and strength, makes a nice contrast between his shikai as well since his shikai's basically a giant slab of metal wrapped in bandages that he swings the weight around

It's honestly, one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, both in it's performance, AND in it's lyrics. I'd love to hear your reaction to it, but since I know you don't usually react to openings and endings, I at least recommend listening to it on your own time. Don't worry, it has no spoilers (almost none of the Bleach endings do, in fact).
