LELOUCH HAS GONE FULL-ON PSYCHO! Code Geass #23

Comments

The saddest thing for me here is that Euphy died, and she didn't even understand why. Since the Geass messes with your memories surrounding the order Lelouch gives you, she legit doesn't even know what she did nor why her brother, who she loved and who she was just trying to help and who just moments ago agreed to work with her, shot her in cold blood (from her perspective).

Rhyzkha

So... does Mao seem less crazy now? He was annoying but Lelouch seems to be becoming more like him... CC even babying him...

Jeremiah

i mean he reminds me of light yagami lelush

TheBrolyTv

I find it hilarious on how there was no comment on nina losing her mind. Would it be spoiler to point out who C2 was talking to this entire time? I mean she said the name and everything it just didnt look like it was noticed.

Garlic

I'd also like to point out that he literally already said those exact words to Kallen post-Narita. True, it was regarding Shirley's father, but he's already had the I've done something inexcusable, now i have to come to terms with that' once this season. This isn't him accepting it quickly, it's him being forced to double down on a descision he made once.

Harold Haddick

I still remember this episode when I watched it. It was extremely hard to watch :p

Dia Rbeid

I really feel for Cornelia here. Despite her ice queen demeanor you can tell she really loved her little sister.

CrossZ

A lot of people get mad at Lelouch for just going with it, but honestly that’s the right move for him. Doing anything else would be making the death of one of the women he cared about meaningless. I feel like part of the reason Lelouch just goes straight ahead and does it without hesitating is because stepping back would be wasting every sacrifice it took to get there. Shirley’s mind. Kallen’s brother. Clovis. Euphie. If he didn’t go along with it, their sacrifices would’ve been in vain.

Ultra Power

The sheer terror on Curtis's face is priceless. Also I present to you my personal nickname. Lelouch the Douche.

Ultimate Soldier X

Damn! 4 month wait?! That sucks!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I mean, calling the japan special zone "independence" isn't quite right. And Lelouch isn't a psycho. He could be. He could have broken under the weight of the world like any other person would but he didn't. He's still continuing on the path he chose. He's doing what he deems necessary and is sacrificing his own mind and conciouns for what he thinks is right. Anyone else wouldn't have been able to keep going after this but he did. Even with good and evil being subjective and impossible to judge objectively you can still say that his mind compared to the rest of the world is "great".

Irimu

Also we see Darlton is injured but not dead. So Lelouch didnt kill him when they met hmm.

PKKite

How you see the hero of the show is depending on your own moral compass you can see Zero or Suzaku as the hero of the story. Much like DeathNote protagonist does not equal hero also like deathnote Light or L could be seen as the one to root for depending on your perspective.

PKKite

I think the problem is how quickly Lelouch was able to get over what he had just done and use it to his advantage.

Josh

You gotta keep in mind that Lelouch wasn't in the wrong for what he did. His geass WAS out of his control and he didn't realize it until it was too late. He had to shoot her or else she would just keep going on her geass fueled genocide. He also couldn't just come out and say "Hey, Black Knights and people of Japan, I accidentally used a supernatural ability to order her to kill all the Japanese. My bad." He did the only thing he could do, to unite the Japanese under their "betrayal" from Britannia. He really was wanting to work with his sister and genuinely didn't want to hurt her.

Miasimon

Don't mind me, just drowning my sorrows again at the loss of one of my favorite characters... Hey, Curtis, imagine if you had to wait 4 months before you could see the rest of season 1. Because in the initial airing, there were some issues with production and scheduling that caused the last two episode to be delayed from the start April to the end of July. The last two episode were than aired as a one-hour special. Hey, since we're having to wait too, maybe we can get a one hour special too?

Harold Haddick

Yeah, Lelouch is basically fighting his humanity, while Light either lacked it or more likely lost it.

Miklar Sihn

Many people compare Lelouch to Light for obvious reasons. But the thing with Lelouch is... Light was a psychopath, I think there ia little room for doubt with that. And Lelouch is cold and ruthless but there is a difference. Lelouch has shown genuine examples of empathy, while as Light never did. So the scary thing here might rather be that he isnt actually a psychopath. I mean its possible - But psychopaths dont have empathy. He's a psycho one could say, but its not that he's not capable of empathy. Light also never questioned himself which Lelouch has. There are interesting comparisons to be made between the two of them.

Schmul Sjifris

So much to unpack. This is truly one of those series that is amazing the first time for rollercoaster that it is, but then is just as amazing the second as you pick up on so many more details. This has always been a clash of ideologies, with Lelouch embodying the ends justifying the means. Well right now, Lelouch is desperate for those ends in order to justify the atrocities he has committed. To such a degree that the only path is forward, no matter the cost. You didn't seem to react to it, so just in case, while C2 was talking to herself as usual, she mentioned Marianne.

Tyler

He desperately needs those ends to justify these terrible means up till this point.

Tyler

The only ones who should kill, are those prepared to be killed after all.

Tyler

As he said at the end, he is just straight up giving up his morality and focusing on making things work.

Miklar Sihn

I mean, who wouldnt be after killing two family members, both of whom he was close to as a child and one of whom he actually used to love.

Miklar Sihn

Technically, Lelouch isn't a psychopath. Psychopaths have no sense of remorse or empathy, tend to be very anti-social, and generally lack a moral compass. None of these attributes can be applied to Lelouch, as he has felt remorse for his actions, does appreciate the company and friendship of others , and obviously has a sense of personal morality. He's just a little mentally broken at the moment, as well as caught up in the heat of things.

M9M5

The deal with a devil line just reinforcing my ship. you know you've the right one when your still together while you often call her the devil or that witch and she is calling you on your bullshit when in private and backing you 100 in public

Sean Nelson

Lelouch definitely knew what suzaku was talking about it. they are friends so he gave him the advice he was following even if that means the one he wants to kill is him. It's his way of saying I wont try to justify it so do what you think is right and well its irrelevant because I'm going to win.

Sean Nelson

whenever you get a school episode as I've said before they do usually have a big plot point (this time the zone) they also serve as a big breath in because holy shit it's a race of chaos for awhile lol

Sean Nelson

without any spoilers we have seen pictures and visions of C.C. from various time periods without her seeming to age but she did used to have a not C.C. name so whatever made her become what she is stopped or slowed aging. V.V. must have the same just got it while still a youth. best I can go into it with what info is available at this point

Sean Nelson

Well, V2, shoulda have a V8. Look at him, he’s so damn short.

gomugomubrooo

Wow this is fuckin insane these past 2 episodes im just sitting here stunned... i wonder whos mind is more gone by the end; light or lelouch

Good take... Yea, falling into the abyss of crazy definitely would be a coping mechanism.

Spaz Boys Comedy

Big time! :-D

Spaz Boys Comedy

Lelouch simply thought “the eggs have already been broken, so I might as well make an omelette”. I also think that acting insane is a way for him to deny all of the guilt he feels for what happened. Either way, I’m still rooting for him.

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

Lelouch mind went bye bye 👋
