Little fun fact: There are a few kinds of Haki that will be explained later. Luffy has beaten someone with Haki, before. Hell, the crew took down multiple people within the same arc, all having the same kind of Haki. The Haki they had is even used in this episode.

I'm more impressed that Luffy can crack his knuckles. He's rubber, his bones and joints aren't exactly normal, so how is he able to crack his knuckles and how does stretching help him in any way? I guess Luffy is just weird.

I told you I'd remind you about it and here it comes. Remember back when Luffy faced against Duval before Sanji did surgery on his face? Luffy knocked out Duval's animal thing just by looking at him and it was pretty strange. It's connected to this.

Haki is a technique that will be explained more in depth later on in the story, but all you need to know for now is that Haki has been in the story throughout you watching without you realizing it until and having this Haki ability takes a person’s abilities onto a whole new playing field, especially the Conqueror’s Haki as emphasized in this episode.
