Lloyd is definitely one of my favorite characters. (What makes his voice work here even more fun is knowing that he's voiced by the same actor as Gaara.) I saw you took note of Rakshata's voice here too. That 'airhead' tone IS interesting... I got the impression she and Lloyd are purposely meant to have that same lilting quality to the way they speak. Just one more thing to connect them. They're basically playing the same role, just for opposite sides.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think he was even considering adopting Suzaku as well, to guard him against nobles who might not be pleased that an Eleven is raising above his station. I doubt Suzaku would've agreed, given his trauma over his last father, but just the fact that he's willing to try is a hell of thing for him to do.

Yeah uh Darlton is actually really a good person all things considered. Last episode he was actually worried about Suzaku despite others not caring. This episode he was the first to clap and its for real he is perfectly fine with Suzaku he has no hate for him being only a honorary Britannian. The others clap because he is above them and they are bregrugendly respecting his choice. Another thing the show wont explicitly say but Darlton also chooses to adopt war orphans to help rebuild there lives when they lost everything. Quite a few of his adopted sons even choose to become soldiers like him due to his honorable example he shows.

So, Darlton wasn't giving Suzaku a sarcastic slow clap at the beginning. He was legitimately congratulating him. He started a few seconds late to force the other nobles to join in. They might've been willing to shun an honorary Britannian knight, but Cornelia's right hand, and one of the most decorated generals in the country? Yeah, that's not happening. And it shows. The nobles saw him clapping and, begrudgingly started to clap as well. Also, I've seen this show so many times, and I only just noticed Lloyd's expression when they were discussing the order to kill Zero. Somehow I missed that in all of my rewatches.

But they had mentioned Clovis when unveiling the ship... No, wait. That's my mistake. When Euphy said something about it being "her brother's", I automatically flashed on Clovis... Wrong brother! :-D
