I know that "Rayleigh being 100x stronger than Luffy is an understatement" has been said by many people, but i want to stress that in literal terms this really isn't true. I mean think about it, 100x stronger would be absolutely ridiculous. I mean we know up to this point that he is leagues above Luffy, and can tango with an admiral, which is enough. Frankly 100x is a bit of an exaggeration.

Honestly Sabaody is my favorite arc in all of One Piece, it has stakes, action, world building, and consequences. In short it's the best arc in One Piece, if only Oda would do that for all of One Piece then the story wouldn't basically be a 4/10

That badass motherfucker is going 1v1 with an admiral and as Kizaru said, Rayleigh is no longer at his prime. Imagine how strong he was 20+ years ago when he was with Roger.
