This episode is the biggest rollercoaster of emotions in the series (so far). Marlo dying, to Levi fucking up Zeke, to Zeke making an escape, to Armin's cryptic phrasing, to a good plan to take out Reiner, to the plan getting fucked, to Hange making her return and Mikasa taking out Reiner, to Armin burning alive, to Eren slicing Berthold. Up and down, up and down.

One thing the anime doesn't mention is that Armin doesn't just stall for time for Eren to harden. He also makes the Colossal Titan's neck very easy to slice through by making him consume most of the muscles in order to create steam. Otherwise, even if Eren would have been able to come close enough to slice Berholdt's neck, he never would have been able to slice deep enough to get Bertholdt.

Armin never believed in himself and his own abilities throughout the series, however everyone else heavily relied on him. At the end he went finally realizing his actions contribute towards his goal of Eren finally getting to the Basement. He was a Hero Also Levi slicing went all meat butcher on Steroid Sasquatch/Zeke. Loved when he jammed his blade through Zeke’s mouth and out of his eyeball.
