Fun fact: What Levi said way back when they were running from the Female Titan in the forest is a massive running theme throughout the entire series up until the very end. Can't remember the exact quote but basically you will never know what's right and what's wrong until the bitter end. Eren, Mikasa, Levi and the Scouts could all be leading humanity to extinction because they might not know something important that the government knew. Not Armin though. He's a sweet little cinnamon roll that could do no wrong.

From what the shows has told us so far, a Reiss possessing the power of the Founding Titan inherits the old Kings memories, and all of the Reiss predecessors memories as well. They are able to control and therefore exterminate all the titans, but none of them ever did. The old King didn't, Rod's brother didn't, Frieda didn't. Then Erens dad stole the power and gave it to Eren, who didn't inherit the Kings memories, just his dad's and Friedas. The reason why he stole is pretty obvious considering all this, but its interesting to see Historia taking the stance she does, despite everything that happened

Agreed completely. Like Ymir encouraged her to do, she's done being the "good little girl" who would smile and do her duty as daddy says. She's not the "good" little girl, and she doesn't want to pretend to be anymore. She's doing what SHE wants to do, regardless of what Rod claims her duty is. She's not doing it for humanity. She's not doing it to eliminate the Titans. She's finally allowing herself to be selfish, or maybe self-indulgent; she's doing what she wants to do, BECAUSE it's what she wants to do. She's saving Eren, because Eren wouldn't abandon her. If that makes her a bad person, so be it.

I know you're confused about a lot of things but don't worry, it's a normal response for many fans at this point in the show. Rest assured though that the plot elements will start to make sense for sure :) Also your skeptical analysis of what you think is happening in the show is in the right direction in how to approach the show (not saying you're predictions are right or wrong but your analysis of what you're expecting is great)

Rod is a case for me of a good honest guy with good intentions, but without the guts or the heart to step up and handle things himself. He’s afraid of stepping into the role himself so he tries to force it on his other family. That’s his big flaw. Until finally when he sees there’s no other option he becomes a Titan here to fulfill the royal bloodlines duty

I knew you'd come to appreciate the greatness that is Kenny with this episode. I think Rod is completely honest in what he is saying. The Reiss king could have caused all the titans that breached the wall to leave if the power hadn't been stolen by Eren's father that night. I think he was also honest that he and his brother wanted to eliminate the titans to free humanity, and that he doesn't know why whoever inherits the power, including his brother who was previously on his side, won't do so (whatever bit of knowledge they inherit from the world's memories that convinces them not to). All in all I think Rod has humanity's interests at heart. This is one of my favorite episodes.

Eren having the power is better? Maybe but I really dont think what Historia did here had anything to do with that. His story doesnt check out, something is off and Historia remembered that she should live her life for herself while her father is trying to force a very specific duty on her. She said "F*** that duty, Im going to what I want to do. Im not gonna eat Eren just because you tell me to. If that makes me a bad person, who cares? Im gonna live life the way I wanna live it" Thats what I got from it at least.

The best villains are the ones with their own motivations and personalities. So many shows and movies these days have the laziest villains that are just walking stereotypes of "I want to destroy humanity because we hurt the environment" or something.

You're gonna really need to focus on the details of the story and flashbacks atm because it will all come together and make sense later on, maybe rewatch some of the scenes while editing.

Yea, Eren basically inherited Frieda and Grisha’s memories because Grisha ate Frieda, then Eren ate Grisha. So Eren has 2 titan abilities and their memories. But not the memories of how the world came to be because he doesn’t have the Reiss royal blood.

When you saw Historia's sister brushing her hair, it was Eren gaining access to her memories in the exact same way he has access to his father's memories. After all he inherited their power along with a portion of their memories. So yeah, she is dead.
