Demon slayer also takes a lot of elements from Japanese mythology which is cool, probably because it is based in Japan after all lol

2020-02-10 16:38:34 +0000 UTCnot sure if it's been mentioned but urokodaki's mask with the long nose is a Tengu which is a sort of demon, the masks are meant to frighten evil spirits and bring good luck, you'll probably see Tengu or at least references to them in other anime eventually, they're giant red men with long noses and wings that wear wooden sandals. also Tanjiro's mask is most likely a kitsune, a fox.
