Oh jeez, this was my first recommendation for my little sister years ago. I had to impress her so I can finally have a watching partner. I knew the female fandom was superb on this series, which is why I chose it. Long story short, she refuses to watch anime unless there's a cute guy in the show. Till this day, she's only seen Black Butler, Maid-sama, Vampire Knight, and this. I've created a monster! My depression aside, the show is a fun watch. It was one of my first 20 anime series I watched. Just don't let the fangirl within to erupt or I'll lose you too! :(

Okay a little explanation of a what a Host actually is. You see in Japan there are these things called Host and Hostess clubs. At them attractive members of their respective sexes entertain clients. Largely by sitting, serving drinks, drinking and engaging in conversation with them. It's a somewhat seedy profession, but you could hardly call it part of the sex industry. In fact touching is usually prohibited at such establishments. Also a little story about my first encounter with this series. I stumbled onto the Manga by accident, but ended up staying because the plot proved to be kind of intriguing. At the time I was sharing a computer with my jock brother. So let's just say it was something I wasn't telling him about. Despite the fact that he was also into Manga at the time. Fast forward a few months and we've moved onto watching Anime online. My brother mentions to me that he's discovered an anime where the characters pick up chicks. It turned out to be Ouran High School Host Club. The Anime adaptation of the Manga I was afraid he'd make fun of me for reading.

One of my favourite shoujo anime, it likes to poke fun at the old cliches of the genre, shoujo anime focus more on relationships and "realistic" situations typically, also I wondered if you'd realise Haruhi was a girl lol. May sponsor more of it next month, that or a different shoujo series lol, skip beat, cardcaptor sakura, sailor moon, there's a lot of... different series I can think of lol

We should get you into some of the classics, though it is kinda strange that we went directly for this take on the traditional style (I am not saying the name of the style of show as it might be a bit spoilery for someone new to the genre)
