2020-02-04 00:54:47 +0000 UTCI used to hate this anime, it came out when I was an edgy teen, saw this as that "mainstream normie shit". Watched one episode, never came back. My friend told me to read the manga, so I did. (THIS ISN'T SPOILERS). Eren has become part of my top ten anime characters, of all time. When I started reading/ watching this, I thought 'great another generic vengeance and teen anger issues, protagonist.' When I was reading I thought, he's gonna have a few cool moments, but stay the same, similar to Naruto, the passionate one who gets people to see hope. However this couldn't be further from the truth, when you think about how much Eren has gone through till this point. Lost his mother, his home, had to train years only to get eaten on the first day, realise that he is a titan the thing he vowed to destroy, control this new power, be the target of some vicious adversaries, constantly being captured because of what he is, constantly having friends die around him, not only that but three of them betrayed him in the biggest way, not even considered human by most but just as a weapon and then go on to lose Hannes. That shot of him on horseback gets me everytime, the pure agony in his eyes, everyone has it bad in the world of AOT, but none as bad as Eren. Season 3 is amazing and I cannot wait for you to watch it. Then the new season that is coming out, is literally going to cause viewer's brains to explode, solely due to the change in Eren's character.

2020-02-03 15:22:50 +0000 UTCSince Eren's body needed to be fully healed before being able to transform, he was actually losing even more time by damaging his hand prematurely. That means his body would also have to heal the self-inflicted injuries on his hand before being able to transform. Also I just realized that the blood raining down on the flowers at 8:34 is something that Eren has dreamed about at the start of the very first episode of Attack on Titan. That is some crazy foreshadowing.

2020-02-03 13:58:02 +0000 UTCIt was so frustrating to see Eren be unable to transform here, and you're completely right about him seemingly needing to be FULLY healed, as his body was focused on doing that. But holy balls the new ability he's apparently unlocked is nuts. If you recall, Annie's scream could call Titans to her. So, perhaps, the plan Reiner had would be using Annie to call Titans and then the "Coordinate" to control them. Just my own speculation from this episode. Either way, at least Eren finally got some form of revenge.
