Lets be clear, if there is any halfway plausible chance of koro-sensei blowing up the planet, he should be assassinated. Leaving a one in a million chance of the destruction of the planet would be a problem and this is much higher than that.

The largest rocket launch complex in Japan, located in Kyushu the southernmost chain of islands before Okinawa. Here they use a stand in name in this case Shimazu. The name a Samurai clan native to Kyushu, who were also the first Samurai to ever use muskets which they procured from the Portuguese in the 1500s. The Shimazu are also famous for being a key player in the Boshin War and the Meiji restoration. In which they overthrew the military government and reinstalled the Emperor as the sole ruler of Japan.

2020-01-30 16:56:23 +0000 UTCOne of the reasons that Karasuma didn't think that they'd be able to get the research data before the deadline was that there was a non-zero chance that the US scientists would hold the information to use it as a bargaining chip in diplomatic relationships (represented by the US announcing they'd tell you how to save the world for a mere 10 BIllion). In addition to the prelaunch check up to ensure that the rocket wouldn't explode with his students on board, Korosensei was forced to save them on reentry as well. The parachutes had been impropery packed, and tangled up on deployment. Which would've led to them making a considerable freefall with nothing to slow them down if not for a multi-armed teacher with a penchant for untying knots AND a strong desire to have students not reduced to smoothies by the impact. He submitted a report on the parachutes along with the rest of the information that he gave to Karasuma at the end, and he included information to correct the problem for the next launch.
