Learning about the government and the history of the blank century really changed the feel of the story for me. This was the beginning of when I realized just how big the world building is in One Piece. It's more than just Luffy and his pirate gang traveling the seas going on an adventure and having to face some marines or other pirates here and there. This whole world has such a rich story it. So well build. You were saying in the previous episode that the backstories are so good that despite how much you wanted the main story to keep progressing forward the backstory doesn't feel like a nuisance. You're just as invested into the backstory as you are the main story. Even where I am we are in the middle of a backstory and just before the backstory some major shit was about to go down and then we got hit with this backstory and I am loving the backstory so much that I'm perfectly fine with it taking 50 plus chapters if it has too despite the fact that I also would like the main story to progress. It doesn't matter if it's the main story, a side story, or a backstory in One Piece, the content you are getting is amazing.

One Piece is the type of story that hits you harder every time you watch. I never teared up on my first watch through until later in the show (much later), but seeing this again summons ninja's that like cutting onions and punching me in the gut.

Last thing - Clover’s speech is some of the deepest and most important world lore we’ve gotten so far in the entire story so it will be important to try to keep this section in mind in the future (as much as your memory will allow 🤣)

Also, this section of story is still super relevant today, what with so many (particularly but not exclusively) on the left who want to try to erase parts of history and act like they didn’t happen, like with the civil war or Nazi stuff. They don’t want to even acknowledge history
