GOOSHER 100 VID from CHROME - Tanya The Evil #1 - Yup, "Evil" Fits Her!

From the limited exposure I'd had to this series, I already liked Tanya... Now, having seen more, I love her!  :-D

I enjoy this show

Sean Nelson

Hearing her pray always gives a different perspective on praying in general, I think she says the following later on "Oh Father, Who Art In Heaven, Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, On Earth.... As It Is In Heaven!!"

The Gimpster 101

That brunette girl reminds me of Tsuyu (from my hero academia), because of the round face and huge eyes. Edit. The character name is apparently Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov (or Visha)... and Tanya's voice actress voices Tsuyu, funny that... 😂

Of course Tanya's evil. She was cursed by God to have perpetual duckface lips.

the poll will be a scattering of different series, didn't think of having the second episode of the 2 reactions I chose as an option

Oh hell yeah, this is some good shit.

Came on here, to watch the Goosher 100s, usually I just watch them in the order they're uploaded. But when I saw you were reacting to this. It went immediately to the front! I sincerely hope Episode 2 is an option in Chrome's poll because it sure as hell gets my vote.

Phillip Ribbink

Agreed... And Tanya seemed more than delighted to provide it for them. :-D

I think she can pass as lawful evil, she's pretty much a zealot for her country, which lawful evil types tend to be. And sending countrymen to die on purpose, simply because they disobeyed, is something a lawful evil character would do. True neutral wouldn't do it because they don't take extremes, and good wouldn't because it's not benevolent. Lawful evil follows the law but doesn't hesitate to commit murder if it's within their right and lawful. In a way, it is twisted law ideals. She's not neutral evil because they're evil just to benefit themselves, they'd shoot their father if they thought it would make them rich, for example. And she's not chaotic evil because they're lunatics who don't really follow any sort of ideal. They're evil just to spread chaos (think Joker on steroids) The whole empire in fact, is basically lawful evil, but there are always exceptions to the rule, like that neutral good-aligned brown hair girl. If you're familiar with Dungeons and Dragons this will make perfect sense to you. That being said, what is evil and what isn't, is very much a subjective matter. What's evil to someone, isn't to someone else.

The light novel also goes more into Tanya's personal philosophy more and very detailed war tactics, she's very intelligent, also the light novels are very robust and detailed, they're not exactly "light" reading, the back of the volumes even contain a map and timeline going over the battles to help out. All 3 interpretations of the story are great in my opinion, the intricate writing of the light novels, the Beautiful artwork of the manga, and the well-executed fights and general scenes of the anime.

I wouldn't necessarily consider her evil per say, she's a realist through and through and will remove anything in her way. The anime excluded a few scenes from the light novel that give further insight into her character, a few of the big ones from this episode that come to mind are her inner monologue sympathising with the enemy soldiers before trying to get them to surrender to save them, before blowing them up lol. the other is additional stuff with Harold and Kurst who she had killed, when we first meet them they look down on Visha and soldiers who are drafted into the military, they think because they volunteered they're superior to everyone else, Tanya verbally puts them in their place for this, while sympathising with Visha for being drafted, she even tells them because they volunteered they should be the first willing to die over those drafted, memories foggy but I feel like they may have abandoned their post as well after boasting how great they are as well.

please do a full series on this, it's a great anime, you'd definitely love it.

J Johnson

I mean... They did say their only choices were victory or death... And their actions had stopped them from being part of the victory so... Death was really the only option left to them.

Miklar Sihn

I've seen this anime before, really good stuff

No he hasn't seen Re:Zero yet

Ruben

Welp, hes ready for Issekai Quartet
