Curtis you compared this episode to Christine. But if I'm honest the setup of the episode reminds me a lot of the Spielberg movie Duel. About a guy who passes a beat up old tanker truck and then is basically pursued by it the rest of the movie. Also a note about how they left him tied up. Traditionally Hindu priests or ascetics endure hellish conditions in pursuit of enlightenment. Usually involving starvation and other forms of suffering. Basically they're saying he's one of those ascetics in training. And that he should not be helped in anyway as it is all part of the training.
