You don't see a lot of anime that deal with the after-effects WW2 had on Japan. In this case the origin of Sentaro's birth and the patrons (US Navy Troops stationed most likely in support of the Vietnam War since this is the 60s) at the bar they played at. So whenever I see it, I'm always interested. I like having the outsider looking in from the inside perspective.
